Hola!!! <— My spanish greeting will be explained shortly 😉
For my workout this morning, I stayed at the house & decided to run on our treadmill instead of going to the gym- since it was an ‘off day’ from Making the Cut & I had already decided last night that I just wanted to do a run + ab work- I figured I would just save gas & do my workout @ home.
I did 4.04 miles on the treadmill- Splits: 8:26, 8:03, 8:13, 7: 59. I watched Jillian’s New Show while running this morning. I actually really liked it- of course- love Jillian, but I really just enjoyed the show itself as well.
After my run, I did some ab work- 3 sets of these (10 reps each):
-ball pass
-V-sit ups
-V-crunches
-regular crunch with calves on ball (20 of these, not 10)
-toe touch crunches
Total time: 42:50; Max HR: 193, Avg. HR: 153; Total Calories burned: 516.
I have to tell you something about our treadmill- it is quite strange. When you put it on a speed, it actually goes FASTER than what you set it for. For example, this morning I was running around 6.8 & my miles were like right around 8min/ low 7 min. When I run at this speed at the gym, my times are definitely different- I would have to run at a faster speed. Needless to say, I think our treadmill has a mind of it’s own.
For breakfast I had a packet of instant low sugar brown sugar oatmeal with 1/3 of a banana & a tsp. of peanut butter (plus a few more bites of PB for me to eat while making breakfast 😉 )
I was getting hungry around 10:30am/ 11am so I broke out one of these:
Honestly, I really did NOT like this bar. It was just really BLAH. Not much flavor- & under whelming. I ate like 2/3 of it- hate to waste it- & then I threw away the rest. I was bummed because usually I love all Kashi products. Oh well, guess I’ll stick to the cereal 😉
Today was a pretty easy day at work- just kind of chilled at my desk 🙂 I had the usual lunch…
After she closed her store, we decided to grab some dinner. We went to Maria Bonita. (Hence my ‘hola’ from earlier 😉 ) I hadn’t been there in a while, but when I used to go there the food was SO good! I got 2 chicken soft tacos- with chicken, refried beans & rice on the side…and of COURSE chips & salsa.
Cori & I enjoyed our chips & salsa a bit too much because by the time dinner came, we were so full! I ate one of my tacos, a few bites of beans & that’s about it. I felt good though- not stuffed. Usually when I eat Mexican food I get SO stuffed & feel disgusting afterwards, but tonight I managed to do well & stop myself at the ‘satisfied’ feeling.
BUT what was NOT good about the restaurant was that is was NOT as good as I remembered. We were both kind of like ‘ehhh’ about the food. I don’t plan to go back anytime soon. Oh and the service was AWFUL. There was a very large party (17 people) in front of us, and we were the next people in line. Well, Cori just told the hostess that we were going to go to the bar & after she sat the party of 17 to please come & get us for our table. Well, guess what? She forgot. Ok, no big deal, but then she asked her if we could get a table & the girl told us NO that we had to go on the wait list—??! What the heck??! Just really bad service. The waitress also messed up Cori’s dinner order. 😦
Anyways, when I got home guess what was waiting for me???! My package from www.netrition.com was there!! WOOHOO! I opened it up to find all of my goodies-
I can’t wait to try this stuff out this weekend & in the coming week!!!!!!
Anyways I hope you have a great weekend! 😀 I’ll catch ya later.

/ June 4, 2010Oh that stinks about the service and then the food not being worth the crappy service. Personally, I’d write them!

/ June 5, 2010The thing about treadmills that bothers me is that they all seem to be different…like some of the speeds are faster than other machines. oh well – c’est la vie. regardless great run!!

/ June 5, 2010I know- that is so weird. You would think they they would all be universal, considering the speeds are the same…so strange!

/ June 6, 2010The oatmeal protein is a mixture of whey protein & oatmeal. It tastes like chocolate, not oatmeal. They had a few flavors- but I liked chocolate the best 🙂 It’s really good- and 24g protein per scoop!! 🙂
