I’m Going to Do It!!

Gooooood Morning Friends ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you all so much for all of your kind comments on my last post.

I have some GREAT news- I am going to do the race in Las Vegas!!!!!!!

I’m SO excited!! I agree with all of you- this cause is SO VERY IMPORTANT to me and it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Even if I can’t run it, which hopefully I can, then I can always walk it. But I’m definitely planning to run it & I’m hoping that my body will cooperate with me ๐Ÿ˜€

If you are interested in donating to my race, or you may know someone or a business that might be interested, here is the link to my site. Just CLICK HERE ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m hoping to get a few business sponsors..hopefully. *fingers crossed!* It really is a great cause and I CANNOT wait to run with Team Challenge!!! ..and I’m also trying to convince my Dad that he should run it with me. I think it would be an AWESOME race to run together, and definitely unforgetable!

C’mon Dad, you know you want to! I mean what better birthday present than running 13.1 miles ๐Ÿ˜‰ (the race is ON his birthday- December 4th)

And if any of YOU are planning to run this race, PLEASE let me know!! I’m pretty sure that there are quite a few other bloggers that plan to run this race, so I am pretty excited ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyways, guess what I tried yesterday?

Starbucks Mocha Coconut Light Frappuccino. (I got it made with soy milk instead of regular milk) I kept seeing it around the ‘blog land,’ and I thought I would try it. Well, guys, I gotta be honest, I didn’t love it. It tasted kind of like icey chocolate water…or maybe like icey chocolate skim milk. I didn’t taste chocolate at all.

I NEVER get these kind of drinks. Normally I am just an iced black coffee kind of girl, or as of lately unsweeted Tazo blackย shaken iced tea.

I don’t know why but I have been absolutely revolted by coffee for the last two weeks or so. The smell even bothers me. So strange, right? I don’t know if it’s my body just kind of just telling me to stay away from it since it really bothers my stomach after I drink it. I continued to drink it every day because I love it, but not anymore. I haven’t had any coffee in over 2 weeks. Crazy, right?! Starbucks has some AWESOME tea though! I had no idea. I never had anything other than coffee. I’m totally hooked on these teas…and hey, they are cheaper than coffee…not too bad, right?! ๐Ÿ˜‰

**Side note, just an FYI: Pumpkin Spiceย Lattes will be BACK at Starbucks on September 6th!!!** GET EXCITED ๐Ÿ˜€

I found that out while I was looking around on their website the other day.

And Starbucks sucked me into another thing…

The Gold Card. Oh yes, I did it. Not only did the cashier convince me, but the lady behind me was like ‘you HAVE to get the gold card it’s the best thing ever.’ I’m not 100% sure what it does, but I know you get a free drink on your birthday. I was also told that you get free upgrades in your drinks like soy milk or syrups. I was also told that you get ‘special’ promotions sent to your cell phone or email.

I was sold. Easy enough. Figured I would cash in on my trips to Starbucks. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also got home yesterday & found this waiting for me…

My NEW lens!!! After seeing this post by Janetha I knew I should go ahead & get it.
This lens was fairly inexpensive but it’s awesome. FOR real. I wish I had better pictures of what it does (if you want to know, check out Janetha’s post- it’s way better than mine!) but I will definitely have more pictures using it soon!

Here is a picture that I took using that lens, it doesn’t do it justice, but I’ll just show you anyways.

See how it kind of fades everything else out around the main focus? Pretty cool, right?!

I also picked some new milk up that Craig wanted to try.

Silk Light Chocolate. Even though Craig is not lactose intolerant, he wanted something that was a bit healthier than just mixing chocolate syrup into skim milk. He spotted this in one of the ads that I was looking at & suggested trying it. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m planning on it tonight! I like both Silk Soy & Silk Almond milk, so I’m sure that this won’t disappoint either.

Well guys, I’m out! Looking forward to tonight…guess what’s on?! (besides Jersey Shore)

The Ravens preseason game vs. the Redskins. (thinking of you Steph ๐Ÿ™‚ ) It’s on ESPN tonight & of course we are planning on watching it…and having a ‘special’ meal since it’s a BIG football night!

Enjoy your day…one more day until Friday- we can do it!

Questions for you:
1. Do you have a favorite Frappuccino at Starbucks? Have you tried the mocha coconut one?
2. Do you have a Starbucks Gold card? Is it beneficial?
3. Have you tried Silk Chocolate milk yet?

**GO RAVENS!!!!!**

I have a Barnes and Noble discount card and they have a starbucks cafe inside. I take my cooler with my lunch there everyday and get a unsweetened iced green tea. I love them and their so good. I work in the shopping center so its nice to walk down there vand look at magazines and eat my lunch and the discount card works on anything in the cafe and books.

  12. Congrats on doing the race and the meaningful cause. I too have been affected by Crohns- my grandfather had it and now my mom. I do appreciate the fundraising you are doing and also your honesty living with Crohns.

About Starbucks a few months ago I decided to do the switch from coffee to tea. as a personal challenge to myself. I love the iced teas and the best part they are cheaper so its been a nice break to my bank. Personally I used to love the frappucinos years ago and now they are too sweet for me.

Your new layout looks awesome, Holly!!

I have a friend who just got diagnosed with Crohn’s and I told her to check out your blog ๐Ÿ™‚ She’s kind of down in the dumps about it which I know you’ve been through but I tihnk your attitude and adjustment strategies will be really useful for her!

My favorite Sbux frapp is Mocha light- plain and simple! Too many flavors makes my stomach hurt, haha.

And thanks for letting us know about the pumpkin spice lattes … those are the best!! Sadly, we don’t have a Starbucks anywhere near us. But I think a pumpkin spice latte is worth a drive! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  21. Lucky you are doing Las Vegas!! I wanted to but it would cost too much this year. I really wanted to go to the Urban Blogger Summit! Chocolate Silk is good but sometimes a little too rich for me.
