Hi! I’m Holly! 🙂
I’m a 24 year old living in Florida with a passion for exercise, healthy cooking, ANYTHING Baltimore Ravens & Baltimore Orioles & living with the daily effects of having Crohn’s disease.
I am currently planning my wedding, which is May 27th, 2011! My fiance, Craig proposed to me ON Ravens field before their first game! Read the full story here.
I’m having a blast planning all of the wedding stuff, as well as doing a LOT of D-I-Y projects! I love all of the homemade stuff, makes the wedding so much more unique. If you need a get website for homemade items, you should check out Etsy. I have purchases so many great things off of that site!
As for exercise, I have always been active my whole life. I was on the track & cross country team all four years of high school..I was also captain of the teams all four years too. 🙂
I am still very active & workout 6 days a week. I make SURE to take one rest day because I have learned HOW important that day of rest is. Your muscles NEED time to repair & recover.
You can see all of my daily workouts, under my ‘daily workouts’ tab located at the top of the page.
I have struggled with over exercising in the past (you can read about that here) but I have learned my lesson- it is NOT the way to go!
I VERY much enjoy cooking & cook dinner every night for Craig & I. I find cooking to be a stress reliever & I truly enjoy it. I love taking recipes & making them healthier. Although, sometimes I think it’s important to indulge too! (Check out THIS recipe for a little indulgence!)It’s all about balance 😉
You can find a list of recipes that I have created, or ‘borrowed’ from other blogs at the top of the page as well- under the ‘recipes’ tab. Please let me know if you try any of them, I love hearing feed back!
I have struggled with an eating disorder in the past. I was in treatment for over 4 years to over come it. I still have daily issues with it, but I have learned to ignore those thoughts in my head & do what I KNOW is right!
If you are struggling with an eating disorder & need someone to talk to, please feel free to email me- hollymolly1986 (at) aol (dot) com. I am here for you!
I also do battle with having Crohn’s Disease every day. I have had to really watch what foods I eat, and am now lactose intolerant because of the disease. The good thing is that I’m on medication for it (you can read about that here) & am trying my best to avoid the side effects of the disease.
I hope that you enjoy reading my blog 🙂 If there is anything that you would like to see on here, please let me know!

/ July 9, 2011I absolutely love your blog! I actually just stumbled upon your about me section and now I’m even more obsessed because not only am I a huuuuge fan of the Ravens and Orioles, but I also have Crohns disease! Have you heard of the specific carbohydrate diet? I was on it for five years and I found that it eliminated all of my symptoms. I haven’t had a relapse for about six years now!

/ July 10, 2011Hi Sara!
Thank you for the comment! 🙂
Sounds like we have a lot in common– GO RAVENS & ORIOLES 😀
I have not heard of that diet. I will definitely have to Google that!! That’s for letting me know. I was trying some gluten free things, just to see how it worked…seems to be helping, but I just started it recently.
Thanks so much for stopping by & thank you for the information 😀

/ November 13, 2011Hey girl, I just came to your blog from PeanutButterFingers (gotta love Julie), and I saw that you are a fellow 20-something runner girl with Crohn’s! I was diagnosed in 2001, and I’m sure you know what a wild ride it is, going through school and especially college (and now grad school, for me) while trying to take care of yourself and trying to be as “normal” as possible. Like you, I too have struggled with my eating; my love of food, control issues, and want to be healthy spiraled out of control, and then when my body would do things like put on 25 lbs out of nowhere, and I would spend years trying to work it off only to then get sick and lose it all and then some and try to change your mind over to trying to GAIN instead of lose…. well, some people can’t even understand that, much less the fact that butter, oil, and milk are only ok in moderation. I can’t just “go eat a cheeseburger.” But boy wouldn’t it be awesome to do that a) without feeling sick and b) without having any nagging feelings?
Keep up the good work, have a great run, eat ice cream before bed (my nightly ritual), have some greek yogurt in the morning (every morning! so good with a little sweetener and lemon juice or jelly and freeze dried strawberries after a nice bowl of cinnamon and ginger oatmeal), and never let anyone tell you that you have to stop doing what you do.
Because believe me, they’ve tried to get me to stop. But as we all know, moderation, listening to your body, finding the right doctor and the right man, a little (or a lot) of stubbornness, and learning to give up control every now and then is the best way to live life.
Have a great night!
Susie
/ November 13, 2011Oh and I’m going to do Team Challenge as well! My mom has been doing it for the past few years through that Atlanta chapter and I graduate in May and am planning to do the VA Wine half-marathon with her. Have fun in Vegas!
